Obituary of Richard P. Jackson

Richard P. Jackson, 83, of Lynn and formerly of Revere, died early Wednesday morning at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Morse) Jackson with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Frank and Albina (Berard) Jackson. He was raised and educated in Revere. He later enlisted with the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for 15 years for Cushman’s Bakery, then 25 years as a truck driver for Schuster Trucking, and finally before retiring in 2008, his most rewarding and enjoyable experience was from the kindergarten student’s, where he worked as a custodian and general maintenance at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Swampscott. Richard loved watching the Patriots and Bruins and was well loved and enjoyed the company of his friends, family and especially his neighborhood friends, he will be dearly missed. Besides his loving wife he is survived by his daughter, Dana and her husband Michael Schmorrow of Haverhill, his son Paul and his wife Barbara Jackson of Middleton, Nancy and her husband Louie Tgettis of Peabody and Paula Erlicman, his sisters, Mildred Starkey of RI, Hazel Lamalfa of Revere, and is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Earl Jackson, Gertrude Jackson, Edith Cinney, Ruth Sharp and Charles Jackson. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 PM. Memorial donations can be made in his name to the MGH Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St. Danvers, MA 01923.
