Edward J. Kiley
PEABODY—Edward J. Kiley, 57, passed away on Saturday evening at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Boston following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Chapman) Kiley. He was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School, where he played on the football team.
Mr. Kiley was self-employed in the construction trade.
Ed will be remembered for his rugged, independent and simple living spirit. He enjoyed history, and loved animals of all kinds.
He is survived by: four brothers and a sister, Rich & his wife Joanne Kiley of Peabody, James Kiley & his wife Donna Landry of Danvers, Leo & his wife Pam Kiley of Marblehead, and Bart & his wife Nancy Kiley of Danvers and Catherine & her husband Joseph Hanley of Peabody; his nieces & nephews, Courtney, Leo, Gary, Chandra, Sheena, Michael and Sherry; a cousin, Robert Kiley of Peabody, and his loving dog Bandit, as well as other extended family and friends throughout the North Shore.
A simple cremation is planned at this time, and a family graveside with urn burial will be held at a future date to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Bethke Cancer Center, John Cumings Bldg, 131 Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, Suite 200, Concord, MA 01742.
