Obituary of Virginia S. (Tyler) McAdoo

Virginia S. (Tyler) McAdoo PEABODY—Virginia S. (Tyler) McAdoo, 91, beloved wife of the late Albert E. McAdoo, died Sunday morning at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott following a lengthy illness. Born in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Marion (Tibbetts) Tyler. She grew up there and graduated from Swampscott High School. She later lived in Lynn, then lived 60 years in Peabody. Mrs. McAdoo was mostly a homemaker who enjoyed her nurturing role as mother. She managed the Cabot St. Laundromat in Beverly for a short time. Virginia was a wonderful knitter, enjoyed gardening, and an avid camper at Lakeside Pines in Bridgdon, ME. A voracious reader, she will be remembered for her keen mind, her feisty personality, and the adventures that came from learning and being out in nature. She is survived by: a daughter, Judith Liberge of Saugus; two granddaughters, Michelle Liberge of Saugus and Lisa Roberts of Peabody; two great-grandchildren, Alison and Dean Roberts of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents and husband, by a brother Stanley Tyler. A family private funeral was held in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home in Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
