Obituary of Carl F. Asker
Carl F. Asker, 80, of West Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Beverly Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Mae I. (Pedrick) Asker with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
He was born in Boston, Ma on January 22, 1925, the son of the late Carl F. and Helen (Pearson) Asker Sr. and had resided in Lynn before moving to Peabody 54 years ago.
He was a graduate of Lynn English High School and then entered the US Army in 1943.
He was a recipient of the Silver Star and served overseas with the 248th Engineers Combat Battalion in battles in the Rhineland, Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and Central Europe.
Following his discharge, he began working at the General Electric Company as a design engineer for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge A.F.& A.M order of Masons of Lynn and the Aleppo Temple of Shriners of Wilmington.
Surviving him besides his wife are two daughters and sons-in-laws, Cynthia and Russell Lebel and Carol and Christopher Warren all of Peabody, 2 grandsons, Brandon and Benjamin Warren of Peabody and many nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility . A Funeral Service will be held there on Thursday at 11:00 AM.. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
