Obituary of Everett S Owens, Sr

Everett S. Owens, Sr., 87, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died peacefully on Friday with his family by his side at the Oxford House in Haverhill following a brief illness. Born in Saugus, he was the son of the late Franklin and Eva (Glover) Owens. He was raised and educated in Saugus, later lived in Lynn and for the past 30 years he has lived in Peabody. Everett worked as a fabricator for Solomon Metal for 25 years and later worked for Mass Window Cleaners before retiring. After his retirement, he had great joy in helping the children at the Brown School get to and from school everyday for ten years as a crossing guard. Everett was very active in the community; he helped coach little league baseball in Lynn and was past district commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of St. Stephens Church in Lynn and sang in their choir. He is survived by a son, Everett S. Owens, Jr., and his wife Virginia of Cape Coral, Florida, three daughters, Donna Niciewsky and Eva Koerbel, both of Exeter, NH, and Judith Ann Hulskamper of Melbourne, Florida, two brothers, Vernon Owens of Bellaire, IL., and Walter Owens of Saugus, three sisters, Marilyn Wilson of Tyngsboro, Barbara Smith of Fredericksburg, VA, and Dorothy McManus of Lynn, he is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
