Obituary of Mario P. Vercellone

Mario P. Marty Vercellone, 88, of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Peabody Glenn Nursing Home, Peabody following a brief Illness. He was the husband of Mary (Stepenuk) Vercellone with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He was born in Bourne, Ma. on February 18, 1914, the son of the late Guisseppi and Orsola (Rondelloto) Vercellone and moved to Peabody in 1929 where he resided for the past 73 years. He was employed with the Eastman Geletine Corp. of Peabody for 40 years prior to his retirement 25 years ago. A Veteran of WW 11, he served overseas with the Army Air Corps from 1942 until His discharge in 1945. He was a member of the Italian - American Club of Peabody. He loved to watch Sports and enjoyed Golfing and traveling . Surviving him besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Martha Vercellone of Cooper City ,Fl., 5 grandchildren, Tara, Bridget and Meghan Vercellone And Jonathan Zetts all of Cooper City, Fl. and Julianne Zetts of Ohio, a sister-in-law, Domenica Vercellone of Peabody and many nieces and nephews including Joyce Vercellone of Peabody and Patricia Gettings of Middleton. He was the brother of the Late Frank, John and Valentino Vercellone. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
