Obituary of David Anthony Dobreira

David A. Dobreira, 44, of Peabody died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 24, 2011. Born in Salem on December 21, 1966, David was the beloved son of Helen (Mello) Dobreira of Peabody and the late Antonio Dobreira. David moved to Portugal at the age of six and lived there for thirteen years graduating from the Saoromao High School in 1984 prior to moving back to Peabody. David worked as a plastics technician for over 10 years at Webster Plastics Company in Salem. David loved soccer and had been a goalie in high school. He was also an avid Patriots fan. Besides his mother, David is survived by a son Jonathan A. Dobreira and his wife Jina of Daytows, TX and his grandson Luke. He is the nephew of Jane Phillips and Theresa Stevens, both of Salem, Amanda Grant of Danvers, Grace Smith of Hampton, NH, Nellie Provost of Dedham, Delcina Goolsby of Greenland, NH, Mary Rodrigues of Providence RI, Antonio Mello of Hillsboro, NH, Gary Mello of Peabody, Angelica Dobreira of Portugal and Manuela Dobreira of Beverly. He is also survived by many cousins. His funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 9 a.m. from the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Salem/Peabody line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 4 to 8p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
