Obituary of Josephine (Cote) Goodridge

Peabody, January 10, 2003. Josephine (Cote) Goodridge, 83, formally of Lynnfield St., Lynn, died early Friday afternoon at the Pilgrim Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late August Cote and George Goodridge. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Czesnyka) Witwicki. She was raised in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School. She has spent the last 30 years living in Lynn. She had worked as a sales representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company on the North Shore for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed playing golf and was a former Women’ s Clubs champion at the old Peabody Country Club. She also was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and her husband Roger Poor of Boxford; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Raffi Leveille and Nellie Danish, both of Peabody, Laura and her husband Joseph Regis of Hampton, NH; grandmother of Alison and her husband Marc Donahue of Georgetown; great grandmother of Sean and Abigail Donahue of Georgetown; also survived by a stepson Paul and his wife Alice Goodridge of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at a time to be announced later from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Monday from 4-8 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of Sympathy can be made in her name to PACE Program, Market St., Lynn, 01901.
