Obituary of Lucas W. "Luke" Pierce

Lucas W. “Luke” Pierce, 34, of Salem, died accidentally on March, 2, 2011 in Gloucester. Luke was born in Salem on April 7, 1976 son of Lawrence W. Pierce of Salem and the late Marion C. (Attridge) Pierce. He was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School and has been a lifelong resident of the City. Luke worked for a few years with his father in the family painting business. He was an avid hockey and lacrosse player. In addition to his father, Luke is survived by 2 brothers, Adam F. Pierce and Bryon M. Pierce of Salem; his paternal grandmother, Claire A. (Sheehan) Pierce of Salem; his maternal grandparents, Shirley (Davis) Attridge of NH and William and Pat Attridge of Salem; his grand uncle, Rev. William Sheehan, OMI of Lowell; his aunts and uncles, Eric and Virginia A. “Ginny” Johnson of Salem, James and Leigh Attridge of Beverly, Russ and Paula Hilliard, Ed and Maureen Kulak, Mark and Elizabeth Baillargeon all of NH, Tom and Johanna L’Italien of Salem and Frank and Julie Bonuito of Amesbury and several cousins and friends. His brother Padraic B.S. “Pad” Pierce, his grandfather Francis J. Pierce Sr., 2 uncles, Francis J. Pierce Jr., and John Attridge predeceased him. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requested that donations in Luke’s name be made to The Plummer Home for Boys, www.PlummerHome.org , 37 Winter Island Rd., Salem, MA 01970.
