Olivia Nunes Silva
PEABODY—Olivia Nunes Silva, 89, beloved wife of the late Jose Silva, died Friday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a long illness.
Born in St. Jorge, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Jose Nunes and Maria Jose Nunes. She lived there many years, then came to the United States in 1972. She lived in Peabody, then in California for several years, and returned to Peabody where she lived for over 30 years.
Mrs. Silva was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of Peabody, and a long time communicant with Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody. She loved gathering with her large family and will be dearly missed by all who are proud to be part of her family and her friends, too.
She is survived by: four sons, Jose A. Da Silva of Peabody, Joao Silva of Salem, Manuel Silva of CA, and Paul Silva of NH; four daughters, Eva Silva and Maria Da Costa both of Peabody, Olivia Avila of CA, and Isaura Silva of Peabody; 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joao Nunes of St. Jorge, Azores; a sister, Angelina Nunes of CA, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday March 10, 2011 at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
