Obituary of Rita P. (Trecarichi) Agostino

Rita P. (Trecarichi) Agostino, 88, wife of the late John J. Agostino, died at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2011 with her family at her side. Mrs. Agostino was born in Etna, Italy on May 27, 1922 the daughter of Gaetano and Carolina (Rabbiolo) Trecarichi. In 1934 her family immigrated to the U.S. and made their home in East Boston where she attended high school receiving her diploma in 1936. In 1966, she and her husband John moved to Peabody. Rita was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family. Later she was so proud of her 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and their accomplishments. As an accomplished seamstress she designed and made her own clothes, and also loved to cook. Rita is survived her children and their spouses, Carolyn and Richard McGlone with whom she resided, Marguerite Savageau all of Peabody, John J. Agostino Jr., of No. Reading, Stephen Agostino of Peabody and Daniel and Maryann Agostino of Derry, NH; 15 grandchildren, Michelle, Eric, Sean, Ryan, Kyle, Tara, Alex, Jillian, Jonathan, Danielle, Christine, Ashley, Brianna, Stacey and Sara; 6 great grandchildren, Riley, Nikko, Michael, Jocelyn, Edwin and Gabriel; her siblings, Frank Trecarichi of Abington, Yolanda Segal of Hyde Park, Antonetta Ciarletta of Norwood, Carol Popielarczyk of No. Hampton; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Her siblings Paul Trecarichi and Rose Corlito predeceased her. Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
