Obituary of Cathlene A. (Delaney) Bowman

Cathlene A. (Delaney) Bowman, 76, of Peabody and formerly of Medford, died early Tuesday morning at the Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly following a brief illness. Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Smith) Delaney. She was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Girls Catholic High School in Malden, class of 1952. She has lived in Peabody for the past 50 years. She was the devoted wife of John F. Bowman, Jr. Upon her marriage, Cathlene focused her attention to her family and raising her children. She later went on to work as a receptionist for 15 years at AIM Mutual Insurance Company in Burlington before retiring in 2005. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her family was everything to her. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Maurine Bowman of Tyngsboro, and Mark and Cyndi Bowman of Topsfield, her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and John Gillooly of Salem, her brother, Charles Delaney of FLA, and is also survived by her grandchildren, Laura, Sean, Hannah, Kevin and Kyle Bowman, and her step grandchildren, John Gillooly, Jr., Amy Michaud, Jeff Gillooly, and Patti Taft. She was the sister of the late Marie Mangi. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
