Obituary of Marie Gesina (Dieujuste) Charles

Marie Gesina (Dieujuste) Charles, 82, wife of the late Wilgar Pierre Charles, died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at the North Shore Medical Center – Salem Hospital with her family at her side. Mrs. Charles was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on May 11, 1928 the daughter of Gervais and Ismarelie (Bruno) Dieujuste. She was raised and educated in Haiti and immigrated to the U.S. making her home in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Lynn, MA in 1977. Mrs. Charles was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home atmosphere for her children, and later was so proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Most recently, she enjoyed spending time with her cherished great-grandchildren. Mrs. Charles is survived by 2 daughters, Marie Anne Jean-Louis of Lynn, and Marie Denise Charles of Port-au-Prince, Haiti; 4 sons, William Charles and his wife Carole, Serge Charles, Wesner Charles and Marcaisse Charles all of Lynn; 23 grandchildren, Tamara Charles, Junior Charles, Ludgy & Tony Charles-Mowatt, Steve Charles, Fabiola Charles, Melissa Charles, Natasha St. Martin, Shubar Charles, Peterson Charles, Sandy Charles, Sandra Charles, Mackenzie Charles, Mackenson Charles, Martine Charles, Makaine Lozandieu, Sabrina Lozandieu, Miriam Jean-Louis, Widmark Duval, Naika Duval, Barbara Gaudard, Trisanne Charles, Desire Charles and Ashley Charles; 14 great-grandchildren, Jazmyne Charles, Jameel Charles, Kiara Spann, KJ Spann, Cheyenne Mowatt, Izaac Charles-Françios, Steevanie Charles, Deondre Steward, John Cunningham, Chanelle Charles, Milandy Oreus, Michael Oreus, Jayden Oreus, and Asia Chery; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home on 82 Lynn St. in Peabody, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 8 South Common St., Lynn, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, March 25, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Marie Anne Jean-Louis, C/O Marie G. Charles (Mme. Wilgar), P.O. Box 442, Lynn, MA 01905. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody, MA.
