Ernest C. Kemp
PEABODY—Ernest C. Kemp, 92, beloved husband of the late Josephine (Wozniak) Kemp, died peacefully in his sleep at the Epsom Healthcare Center in Epsom, NH on Sunday March 20, 2011.
Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Carl and Annie (Miskovsky) Kemp. He lived in Portland, ME for a few years, then returned to Everett where he graduated from Everett High School.
Mr. Kemp worked for the railroad, then enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II where he served with honor. He was an Electrician with General Electric in the Lynn and Everett facilities for many years.
Ernie enjoyed gardening, and was always adding vegetables to an expanding garden. He was skilled in carpentry, and made several furniture pieces for his home.
He is survived by: one daughter, Jo Ann Walsh of Epsom, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his wife and parents, by eight siblings including Jake, John, Frank “Barney” Kemp, and Beatrice Addison, Margie Thomaselle, Priscilla Lentz, Jeanette Paskus, and Georgina Casey.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Thursday March 24, 2011 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to either a Disabled Veterans organization or the Salvation Army.
