Obituary of Maryann E. "Mickey" (Levasseur) Provencal

Maryann E. “Mickey” (Levasseur) Provencal, 82, of Peabody, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Provencal whom she met as a teenager while attending the Beverly School for the Deaf. Mickey was born in Peabody on July 7, 1928 the daughter of Leo and Mary (Dzielnik) Levasseur. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mickey held several positions at the GTE Sylvania Plant on Loring Avenue in Salem, retiring as a line inspector after 40 years of dedicated service. She was very involved as a Ladies Auxiliary at the PLAV Post #63 in Peabody, loved to travel with the Golden Agers, playing beano, listening to music, reading and making quilts for her family. Most of all, Maryann was so proud of her 6 grandchildren and their accomplishments and most recently of her 7 great grandchildren whom she loved spending time with. Maryann is survived by a daughter and her husband, Donna M. and Christopher Early of Peabody; a son, Robert A. Provencal of Peabody; 2 brothers, Joseph Levasseur and Leon “Buddy” Levasseur both of Peabody; her cherished grandchildren, Robert J. Provencal II, Edward L. and Rachel Provencal, Misty and John Heier, Thomas Beals, Kristen Early and Christopher Early Jr.; 7 loving great grandchildren, Dominic, Demetri, Alyssa, Trinity, Erik, Susan and Nora, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John and Edward Levasseur. Her funeral will beheld on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Maryann’s name to the Connecting Young Moms, C/O Beverly Hospital, 85 Herrick St., Beverly, MA 01915. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Peabody.
