Obituary of Margaret H. (Arsenault) Pecz
Margaret H. (Arsenault) Pecz, wife of the late Alphonse I. Pecz, died peacefully at her son’s home in the comforting presence of her family.
Born in Danvers, Margaret was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Moulison) Arsenault. She grew up in Peabody and attended St. John’s High School.
Mrs. Pecz was a Foster Parent for multiple families and devoted her life to her family and assisting others in their hour of need. She served as a Nurses Aide at both the former Lynn Hospital and the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center. Known as “Chicken Peggy,” Margaret, for eighteen years raised funds for a monthly chicken dinner at My Brother’s Table. Another charity she strongly supported was Teen Challenge a program for the rehabilitation of teen aged children with addiction problems. She was a gifted artist and especially loved to paint landscapes.
She is survived by: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger and Gloria Pecz of Peabody, and Brian Pecz of Taunton; two daughters and a son-in law Phyllis and James Cushing of Waterford, CT and Barbara Lewis of Saugus; a special daughter-in-law Lynne Pecz; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great, great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law Harrison “Skip” Lewis III and her siblings James, Charles, Robert and Elizabeth Arsenault, Evelyn Pistorino and grandson Justin Pecz.
Margaret was devoted to her family and friends. She will be sorely missed.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the members of the HOSPICE of the North Shore & Greater Boston for their guidance, care and support during this most difficult time. With their assistance and advice, we were able to spend those last precious days with Margaret keeping her comfortable, enjoying the loving care of family and friends and affording her a peaceful transition into the hereafter.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HOSPICE of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102 Danvers, MA 01923 or Teen Challenge, 1315 Main St. Brockton, MA 02301.
