Obituary of Dorothea E. (Davies) Baldwin

. Dorothea E. (Davies) Baldwin, 91, of Peabody and formerly of Salem and Beverly, died early Thursday morning at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Cottrell) Manett. She was raised and educated in Salem, later lived in Beverly and has spent the last 31 years living in Peabody. Dorothea was employed for over 29 years as a quality control inspector for Parker Brothers in Salem before retiring in 1984. While living in Salem, she was crowned Miss Salem in 1937. Dorothea loved family time and could always be found with her two sisters, Lillian Manett and Evelyn Pyburn who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Cook and her husband Robert of Beverly, her two grandchildren and a great granddaughter, Todd Cook of Beverly and Shane Cook and his wife Caroline and their daughter Grace of Jamaica Plain, and is also survived by her brother-in-law, George Pyburn of Danvers.
