Obituary of Mary G. (Holt) Pelrine

Mary G. (Holt) Pelrine, 83, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died unexpectedly Friday morning at Salem Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Allan J. Pelrine, Jr. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Stone) Holt. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Public Schools. She had lived in Peabody for the past 45 years. Upon marrying her husband Alan, Mary dedicated her self to nurturing her children and attending to all of their activities and endeavors. After her children were grown, Mary worked at the Pilgrim Nursing Home as a nurse’s aid for many years before retiring years ago. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and going places with her husband and later with her friends. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody and a member of the Lady’s Sodality as well. Mary is survived by her loving sons, Joseph and his wife Joan Pelrine of Sandwich, Allan J. Pelrine of North Adams, her two sons from Methuen, James Pelrine and Robert Ramsay, and Richard Pelrine and his wife Carol Ann Kotilainen of Kenya, Africa, and also survived by six grandchildren, Joseph, Kathleen, and Kristan Pelrine, Justin Day, and Dinaol and Alemnesh and also by three great grandchildren, Abigail, Anthony, and Kaylin. She was the mother of the late John R. Pelrine and sister of the late Thomas E. Holt and Patricia Mazza. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Downtown Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial services will be private.
