Joan I. (Carter) Myers
PLYMOUTH—Joan I. (Carter) Myers, 79, beloved wife of the late Ronald D. Myers, died Wednesday afternoon at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth following an extended illness from the past year.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Rupert and Thelma (McGregor) Carter. She grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. She studied at the Burdette Business School.
Mrs. Myers enjoyed nurturing her family at home, and was especially dedicated to caring for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, and was gifted with the skill of crochet and knitting.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Lecaroz of Harwich, MA, and Sheryl & her husband John Cliggott of Duxbury, MA; a son, Scott & his wife Carolyn Myers of Londonderry, NH; five grandchildren, Sarah Trautz of Belmont, Michael Lecaroz of Melrose, Daniel Guidebeck of Duxbury, Emily Myers of Londonderry and Rachel Myers both of Derry, NH; two great-grandchildren, William and Clara Trautz of Belmont; two brothers, James Carter and Brian Carter, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by brothers Rupert, William, and David Carter.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Tuesday May 17, 2011 at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 6 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
