Obituary of Hannah Curcio

Hannah (Miranda) Curcio, 79, of Haverhill and formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday afternoon at the Oxford Home in Haverhill following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John Curcio, Sr. Born in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Elba and Ida (McBray) Miranda. She was raised and educated in Kentucky, and upon marrying her husband, moved to Peabody where, along with her husband, John, raised her 7 children. She has spent the last four years living in Haverhill. Hannah worked for the United States Government in Germany where she met her future husband, John, and were married shortly there after. Hannah enjoyed embroidery, drawing, doing art work, and sewing. She is survived by a son, Scott Curcio of Haverhill, five daughters, Jennifer L. Stern of Groveland, Joyce Curcio of Georgetown, Janet Curcio of Waltham, Carol Ann LeBeouf of Wyoming, and Christine Burgess of Merrimac, her 11 grandchildren, Kristen Curcio, Scotty Curcio, Jr., Keri Curcio, Jacqueline and Melissa Kelleher, Kara Curio, Matthew, Hannah, and Nathan Burgess, and Rachel and Brenda LeBeouf, and by 5 great grandchildren, Jace and Ty Murphy, Madison Curcio, Jacob Devereau, and Jonothan Leavitt. She was the mother of the late Peabody firefighter, John Curcio. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody.
