Obituary of Evangeline Ann (Kokinos) Berchoff

Evangeline Ann (Kokinos) Berchoff, 91, a former resident of Peabody, died peacefully at the Radius Nursing Center in Danvers, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. She was the wife of the late Warren Berchoff with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She was born in Peabody on June 21, 1919, the daughter of the late Christopher and Irene (Hious) Kokinos and resided here most of her life. She had been a salesperson for many years at the former Deerskin Trading Post in Danvers and Peabody. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and is survived by her loving sister, Mary and Jimmy McGee of New York, her sister Katherine Larson of No Carolina, her brother Mike Kokinos of California, her sister and brother-in-law, Ginny and Bob Rey of N0 Carolina, her three cherished grandchildren, William and his wife Sandra Berchoff of Beverly, Jennifer and her husband John Harvey of Danvers and John Berchoff of Beverly. Also surviving “Yia Yia” are her five great grandchildren, Starsha, Jonathan, Jameson , Madison and Abigail and her precious great, great, great granddaughter Xarria as well as many who loved her throughout her life’s journey. She was the mother of the late William "Billy Jack" Berchoff and sister of the late George, Charles, Steve, Augie, Jimmy Kokinos, Olympia and her favorite dog "Chamois". A visitation will be held on Monday, May 30,2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody.
