Obituary of George Allen King
George A. King, 52, of Salem, died early Friday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers as resluts of injuries sustained in a pedestrian/automobile accident on March 30, 2010.
Born in Peabody he was the son of Ethel “Stephanie” (Berdge) King of Salem and the late George A. King. He was a life long resident of Salem and a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1976.
After high school, George worked as an electrician throughout the North Shore. He first started with Moulson Electric, and then Cronin Electric and Lento & Sons Electric, and for most of his career, he worked for Gloucester Engineering.
George was a sports fanatic who enjoyed all sports, including playing darts and his favorite team to watch was the Minnesota Vikings Football Team.
Besides his loving mother, George in survived by his three devoted sisters, Christine King of Peabody, Kathleen and her husband Leo LaPointe of Newton, NH, and Dianne and her husband Stephen Doody of Plymouth and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a great niece and a great nephew.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Washington St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
