Obituary of Maria (Fichera) Glenn

Maria (Fichera) Glenn, 80 , of West Peabody, died Sunday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA after a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Norman F. Glenn Sr. She was born in Boston on November 12, 1930 and was raised there and resided in the Northend, Jamica Plain, Medford and Boston before moving to Peabody 46 years ago. She had been a Seamstress at a clothing store and enjoyed sewing and decorating. She also loved to cook and do the pogo games on her computer. In her earlier years, she used to bowl in a bowling league with her husband . Most of all she was a nurturer to her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Linda and her husband Joseph Howard of Spring Grove, VA, Dorothy A. Glenn , of Peabody, Norman F. Glenn Jr. and his wife Gail of Easthampton, MA and Mary Lynn and her husband Allen W. Welshons of Peabody, a sister, Theresa and her husband Anthony D’Amore of Peabody. She is survived by her nine grandchildren, Kerry, Jennifer, Dawn, David, Ashley, Michael, Vanessa, Brittany and Danielle and Nine great grandchildren, Avery, Stephanie, Dinha, Brandon, Anthony, Kelsey, Caleb, Jacob and Alexis and also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Shawn C. Dow. A Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Grove St., Lynnfield at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
