Obituary of Richard J. Valerio

Richard J. Valerio, 68 Beverly, January 20, 2003. Richard J. Valerio, 68, of Peabody, died late Monday evening at the Beverly Nursing and Rehab Center, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Grant) Valerio with whom he shared over 38 years of marriage. Born in Falmouth, he was the son of the late Frank Costa and Mary (Teixeira) Valerio. He was raised in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools and graduated from Peabody High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Air Force. After the war, he worked for General Electric in Lynn as a locksmith for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. He is survived by a son, Richard P. Valerio of Peabody; a daughter, Dawnmarie Sheehan of Sanford, ME; 3 brothers, Frank Valerio of Worcester, Joseph Valerio of Las Vegas, Nevada, Arthur Valerio of Epping, NH; a sister, Margaret Burridge of Danvers; 2 grandchildren, Jason Valerio and Robert Sheehan, III, both of Sanford, ME; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Madore and Elsie Ottati. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday morning from 9:00 - 10:45 AM at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0398 of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
