Obituary of Paul J. Micale
Paul J. Micale, of Peabody, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a short and unexpected battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 88 years old.
He was born in Boston, MA on July 30, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Rose (Saia) Micale and was raised in the West end of Boston and had resided in Peabody for the past 56 years.
He was the much beloved husband of the late Charlotte (Fisher) Micale and was also predeceased by his brothers Al, Frank and Charles Micale.
He is survived by his son, Frank Micale of Peabody, his sister, Frances (Micale) Pasquarello of Cambridge and his brothers, Vincent Micale and Richard Micale both of Malden and many nieces and nephews and their children. He also leaves his dear companion of 21 years, Helen Waters and her family of Peabody and a dear sister-in-law, Lillian Fisher of Medford.
Paul served overseas in Word War II with the US Navy as an electrician mate third class prior to his discharge in 1946.
He then was employed at the General Electric Co. in Lynn as a sheet metal worker and also a computer programmer of the Behrens machine for 40 years until his retirement in 1985.
He was a dependable and reliable man who loved his family and his job very much and gave wise and reassuring advice and will be greatly missed by his son. He was handy do-it-yourself worker around his house and also enjoyed making many delicious meals. He was an accomplished ball room dancer and will be missed by many. He was a past president of the Knights of Columbus Carmel Club for 15 years and also a member of the International Union of Electricians, Local 201.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
