George F. Lord, Jr.
(Flag please) PEABODY—George F. Lord, Jr., beloved husband of the late Mildred E. (Lavin) Lord, died peacefully on Sunday morning June 26, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late George and Catheryn (Haibon) Lord. He grew up in Salem and attended Salem schools.
Mr. Lord was a Printer with Deschamps for several years, then was employed at United Shoe in Beverly for most of his career. He retired 26 years ago, and was living in Panama City, Florida, with his wife who passed several years ago.
He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Army.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Beverly and enjoyed golfing.
He lived with five generations in the family, and is survived by his daughter, sons and their spouses, including Pam & George Stankiewicz and Robert & Cathy Lord all of Peabody, and Jefferey & Ethel Lord of Panama City, FL; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents and wife, by sisters Shirley Vergari and Barbara Mignault.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday June 29, 2011 from 4 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Cremation will follow, and Graveside Service will be held at a future time in Panama City, FL. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
