Dear Carol, I was so sory to hear of your mom's passing. I was looking forward to seing her this sumer. Your mom was a warm and wonderful woman. I had the pleasure of having her to lunch a few times (she praised my chicken salad). She praised my attempts at painting my shed too, though she told me I was the sloppiest painter she had ever met! Shortly after my lame attempt at painting I was watching television and looked out to see your mom scraping my shed windows...she couldn't stand the way I left them! I adored her and miss her here on the Cape. Again, my deepens condolences. Diann Milone

Dear Carol and family,

Norma and I have many fond memories of Doris (and Al) from the days we first met them in 1986. It started when they called the Eastham Police because our front door was open and we were not here... the new house settling had caused the problem...and Doris and Al "guarded our house until the police arrived.

Their kindness and concern impressed everyone here in our Cape Cod neighborhood. Then I started bringing them fish... especially bluefish. I never met anyone who enjoyed bluefish more than Doris and I really enjoyed providing fish for them.

The parties we had, the walks Doris and Al went on, the bench I chained to the Seto's tree on Jay Dee Lane so Al could sit & rest (it is still there now), the picture of Doris and Nicky on the cake at our neighorhood dinner that she was so thrilled and surprised to see........... wonderful memories we will never forget.

And one day I took a picture of Doris and Nicky at our door catching her by surprise with a BIG smile... she didn't like the picture as she hadn't "prepared " for it... but I gave her a copy. Later she came over and said Carol had told her it was a nice picture and so she came to apologize for telling me she didn't like it , but everyone else did. So I got a big hug and a kiss as did Norma.

A wonderful person with a loving family.... we will always treasure our memories and good times with Doris.

God bless her..... Paul & Norma

June 30, 2011 To Carole and her wonderful family:

I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with a woman who was wise, witty, understanding, and very considerate. She always had so many funny stories to tell, and I listened intently to every one of them. She mostly laughed at herself. She gave me a bottle of Cape Cod wine last year when she vacationed here on the Cape. I still have it because Doris gave it to me. I think I will take a sip and toast the life of my wonderful friend. Her shoes will be hard to fill.

To One of the Best Aunt's a Person Could Have
for by cousins Bob and Carol and their families

It's been a long road since we walked Peterson Lane. There are many times when I know we all head back there in one form or another. It was the most wonderful growing up that children could do and made us "first cousins" very close indeed. Our families knew each other inside out.

Aunt Doris was great with bruises and bandaids, wonderful to all of us growing up and made the best apple pies in the world. I can still feel my mouth water in anticipation. She and Uncle Al's door was always open and they were watchful, careful and listening people for all of us. I know that I am a better person for growing up in the enviornment that I had to go to in Wolcott. The sweet sounds of Bob's trumpet spreading out over the fields, cows, chickens and horses, barns and cats. Dogs galone, ride on Spike. Dolls and art boards, monoply at Chris' house, all of us squeezed into the feather bed in gram's front bedroom when I came to visit. We had orchards and barn rafters to climb and 300 acres to roam. Nothing like sitting down on the farm porch cutting up green beans to can and OH for Christmas dinner with all of us. Swimming and riding in the old "Rambler" when Chris learned to drive.

Uncle Al sitting at my kitchen table while on deliveries having a cup of coffee and dunking his buttered toast.

Baby turtles Bob....you are still there....I can see you and see your mom in the kitchen.

Camp with Aunt Marion anyone????? Softball in the fields......gymnastics in Sharon's barn......

BIKES BIKES BIKES.........

Christmas tree decorating and walking gram to the garden.

Without Uncle Al and Aunt Doris and that great big front lawn and wonderful maple trees that were there, where of where would we have been.

Carol said it well, Chris, Martha,Gail, Bob, Sharon, Chuck, Bob K and David......with the wonderful parents and grandparents we had - we had it all and still do....how people do you know that can make home make whip cream and butter huh?

I love you all and sometimes miss you terribly and that wonderful place.

Peace be with you.......God's Love and MINE...

Bryan & I were so saddened by the passing of this fine woman. The world will be a lonlier place without her. Not only was she a friend through her niece Jean, Nancy & Elinor Walker, but also she was the "go to nurse" for my children while they were in Wolcott public schools. Even though, at times, she truly knew they were not ill, she would call me and ask me to come and pick up my child because they were suffering from a bad case of, "I want to spend the day with Mom." With a twinkle in her eye and a quick wink, off my child & I would go, always letting them "think" they got one over on her!
May God bless her loving family and have them never doubt the sunshine this woman spead in her life.
God blass

Kathy & Bryan Kovzelove

June 29, 2011 - Dear Carol, Bob and Family: Andrew and I send our thoughts and prayers to you all today and in the days to come. Aunt Doris will live in my memories and heart forever. She was truly a life force and kind spirit on this earth that indeed made the world a better place. In thinking about her today I realized that I had known her for 50 years...most of my life. She brought joy, laughter and always a great story to every occasion. I can almost hear her greeting us and feel the hugs she would give you when you were in her presence. She is at peace now with Uncle Albert. May God rest her soul. Love, Sharon
