Obituary of William Kenneth Kelleher

William K. Kelleher, 84, of Peabody, died Sunday evening at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy (Costello) Kelleher with whom he shared over 63 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Shea) Kelleher. He was raised and educated in West Roxbury and later attended Boston University. Bill entered the Military and served with the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. Following the war, Bill worked for over 48 years as a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before finally retiring in 2004. Bill enjoyed golfing in his younger days and later he enjoyed building the Big Ship Models of Clippers among others, he also was an avid Red Sox fan, and a member of the VFW Post 1011 in Peabody. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Marie and David MacGregor of Middleton, and Laura Ann and David Moalli of Derry, NH, a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Francis Foley of Medfield, and also by five grandchildren, Douglas Kelleher MacGregor, Tara Lynne MacGregor, Michael Shaw MacGregor, Allison Mary Moalli, and Kathryn Louis Moalli, and six great grandchildren, William, Timothy, Nathaniel, and Samuel MacGregor, Joseph Moalli, and Destiny Lajoie, and by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Joseph Kelleher and Mary Carmody. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody
