Obituary of Philip J. Sousa

Philip J. Sousa, 42 PEABODY Philip J. Sousa, 42, formerly of Dustin St., died unexpectedly on Saturday morning at the North Shore Medical Center Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, he was the beloved son of Joan (Koslouski) Sousa of Peabody and the late Alvin Sousa. He attended Peabody schools, graduated from Peabody Vocational School, and lived in Peabody all of his life. Mr. Sousa was a Machinist. He worked at General Electric, Riverworks Plant in Lynn for several years, and was with Polaroid Company in Waltham most recently. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and visiting with family and friends, especially his daughters. He will be dearly missed by his family, including his mother, Joan (Koslouski) Sousa of Peabody; two cherished daughters, Samantha Sousa and Sarah Sousa both of Peabody; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken & Ann Sousa and James & Susan Sousa, all of Peabody; he was nephew of Helen & Ted Johnson of Wenham, and Francis Koslouski of Peabody, and he leaves many nieces, nephews, 2 great-nieces and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Sousa. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Ceremony on Wednesday at 9 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St location, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
