Obituary of Elinor M. (Galvin) Hardy-Cloutier

Peabody, January 22, 2003. Elinor M. (Galvin) Hardy-Cloutier, 83, formally of Lynn, died early Wednesday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Francis H. Hardy and Clifford Cloutier. Born in Boston on October 3, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (McLeod) Galvin. She was raised and educated in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for a number of years as a sales clerk at the Parisian Cleansers in Lynn. She also was a member of Top of the Mark bowling league and enjoyed playing beano. She is survived by 3 sons and daughter-in-laws, Francis X. and Ellen T Hardy of Peabody, Thomas M. and Eileen M. Hardy of Arlington, and William H. and Bridget E. Hardy of Lynn; 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Mary A. And Arthur Murphy of Peabody, and Ann M. and Alfred Jones of North Andover; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Eileen M. Brown, sister of the late Louise Smith and John, Joseph, and Francis Galvin. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 4-8 PM Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
