Obituary of Stephen A. "Steve" Edmands
Stephen A. “Steve” Edmands, 54, of Peabody, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 with his family at his side at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers.
Steve was born in Salem on September 1, 1956 son of Claire A. (Ledoux) Edmands of Peabody and the late Francis Edmands. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Class of 1974. He then pursued his education at North Shore Community College and received a degree in Aeronautic Science, later becoming a small aircraft pilot.
Steve was a natural at flying and for several years was employed as an instructor at Beverly Airport. In addition to his flying career, he was employed at Standard Electric as a warehouse quality controller having to retire due to his failing health. Steve’s favorite sports team were the Red Sox, followed by NASCAR racing and the Patriots. As hobbies he enjoyed traveling, and playing drums with various North Shore Bands.
In addition to his mother of Peabody, Steve is survived by his siblings, Francis A. Edmands, Jr., Lawrence S. Edmands of Peabody, John B. Edmands and his wife Deborah of Amesbury, and Janet M. Bergstrom of Peabody; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his many friends.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., (next to St. John’s Church & City Hall) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Monday, July 11, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
