Obituary of John A. "Jack" Muse
John A. Jack Muse, 71, of Beverly and formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday at the Salem Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Peabody on October 25, 1933, the son of Mary Ruth (Doucette) Muse of Peabody and the late John A. Muse Sr. and resided here most of his life before moving to Beverly.
He had been a route salesman with the Nilsson’ s Bakery for 30 years. Later he worked with the Peabody Council on Aging as a driver and as a dispatcher for 10 years.
He was a member of the Leo Council # 508 Knights of Columbus and belonged to the bowling team for many years.
He was a talented musician and served as vice president of the North Shore Organ Society and played keyboard for many nursing homes in Essex County.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Air Force.
Surviving him besides his mother of Peabody are his wife Nancy (Washburn) Muse of Beverly, six children and their spouses, Gerald & Linda Muse of Salem, Larry & Cheryl Muse and Sharon and Ed Delloiacono all of Sanford, ME, Don and Pat Muse of Bealeton, VA, Philip and Debbie Muse and Rick and Karen Muse all of Peabody; 11 brothers and sisters, Dot Richard of Billerica, Betty Innman, Margie Conroy, Carole Stone, Thomas Muse and David Muse all of Peabody, Mary Fawcette of Danvers, Kathy Livingstone of Salem, Sally Henry of Georgetown, Jean Russo and Patricia Savory both of Danvers; 19 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 3 step-children, William Oxford of Danvers, Janice Oxford of Miss and Philip of Martha’ s Vineyard. He was the father of the late Judy Fountain and the brother of the late Robert Muse. He was the former husband of
Barbara MacLean of Danvers.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 am from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Expressions of sympathy may be made to charity of your choice.
