Obituary of Ellen Patricia "Pat" (Riordan) Wynne

Ellen Patricia Pat (Riordan) Wynne, 92, of So. Peabody died Saturday at the Rosewood Nursing Center in Peabody after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Martin J. Wynne. She was born in County Cork, Ireland on July 13, 1913, the daughter of the late Michael and Johanna (Ryan) Riordan and had resided there before moving to Peabody 56 years ago. She was a licensed practical Nurse during WW II in London, England and following the war came to New York City before moving to Peabody. She continued her Nursing career in private duty in the North Shore area for over 35 years prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Southern Belles Bowling League at Metro Bowl in Peabody for many years. She also enjoyed doing gardening around her home. She is survived by a son and daughter - in-law, Peabody firefighter Thomas M. and Jean Wynne and a daughter and son-in-law, Gene and Jo Ann Catherine Doughty all of Peabody, 6 grandchildren, Catherine Wynne Saucier and her husband Marc of Dracut, William Doughty of Manchester, NH, Patricia Wynne Sonia and her husband Roger , Thomas M. Wynne Jr. and Meghan Wynne all of Peabody and James Doughty of NJ, 2 great grandchildren, Connor and Caileigh Saucier of Dracut and many nieces and nephews. She was the youngest of twelve siblings who have pre-deceased her. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be on Friday from the Funeral Home at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, So. Peabody at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
