Obituary of Jean A. (Cullen) Conway

Jean A. (Cullen) Conway, 77, of West Peabody, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. She was the loving and devoted wife of Edward J. Conway Jr. who died three weeks ago on June 27,2011. Jean was born in Salem, MA , and the daughter of the late Leo and Sarah (Nickerson) Cullen and was raised and educated there graduating from Salem High School. She had resided in Peabody for the past 45 years. She had been employed at the former Osram Sylvania Lighting Company at the Loring Avenue, Salem plant for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Jean enjoyed traveling with her husband taking cruises to Jamaica and other islands. She had been an avid reader and also did crocheting but her real joy was nurturing and caring for her grandchildren . She liked to walk her daughter’s dog," Tasha", around the streets of Peabody and Lynnfield. Jean is survived by her son, Dean Armstrong and a daughter, Debra Davidowicz both of Peabody, her two cherished grandchildren, Brianne Jean and Stephen Davidowicz III, her brother and sister-in-laws, Brian Conway of Lynn, Patricia Whittier of Rowley and Joanne Norton of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Chelcie Armstrong-Hobart, the sister of the late Margaret Bernier and the Aunt of the late Rick Bernier. A Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held there on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pine Street, Peabody.
