Obituary of John A. Fritz Jr.
John A. Fritz Jr., 71, of Danvers and formerly of Groveland, died Monday at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, MA after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Donnelly) Fritz who died two years ago.
He was born in Lynn, MA on February 27, 1940, the son of the late John A. and Marion (Wilcox) Fritz Sr. and was raised and educated in Saugus. He had resided in Groveland for thirty five years before moving to Danvers 4 years ago.
John had been an engineer most of his life working with electronics and later computer components at first with the Klein Associates and later for over 20 years with the Lilly Associates both in Salem NH prior to his retirement. He then became a consultant in the computer industry for the past 5 years.
He had served in the United States Navy in the late fifties and was always willing to help people with setting up and fixing their computers. He had been an avid NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed reading.
He is survived by a daughter, Amy Fritz of Quincy, his dear aunt and uncle who helped raise him, Ruth and Al Harding of Arundel, Maine, his very dear friends, Paula DiStefano and Mitchell and Matthew DiStefano all of Malden, and Rachel and Chad Burke of Boxford and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was the brother of the late William Fritz.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
