Obituary of John W. "Jack" Graham

John W. “Jack” Graham, 90, of Peabody, died Friday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family by his side after a 6 month illness. He was the husband of the late Lucy (Castelluzzi) Graham. He was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada on December 23, 1920, the son of the late Henry and Blanche (Grant) Graham and came to the United States when he was six years old finally settling in Peabody. He had been a dedicated veteran of WW 11 having trained first with the Century Rangers and later with the 361st Infantry Regiment of the US Army in Italy and Po Valley where he received two purple hears prior to his discharge in 1945. Jack and been in the leather industry working at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Co,, Peabody and later became a driver for the Peabody Council on Aging for 10 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed watching sports and doing gardening around his house. He had been a life member of the V.F. W. Post 1011 of Peabody, the American Legion Post 227 of Middleton and was a former member of the Peabody Lodge of Elks, # 1409. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Dianna Graham and a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Tom Rossignoll all of Peabody, two brothers, James Graham of Huntsville, AL and Henry Graham of Salem, four grandchildren, Thomas Rossignoll of Peabody, Kendra Cierri of Derry, NH, Michelle Blais of Danvers and Christopher Graham of Medford, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William J. Graham and the brother of the late Robert “Moe” Graham and Frances Gaudet. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral Services will be held there on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
