Obituary of Brian Varela Vences

Brian Varela Vences, 25, of Peabody, died suddenly Friday afternoon at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Born in Salem, he was the beloved son of Jose and Emila (Leitao Varela) Vences of Peabody. He was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Schools. He had been working as a laborer for various companies throughout the North Shore area. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music and spending time with his friends. Besides his loving parents, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Stephen Gold of Beverly and he was the proud uncle of his 5 month old nephew, Gavin Zachary Gold. He also is survived by his girlfriend, Christina Pegoraro of Malden, with whom he was expecting their first child this coming January. His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name,C/O any Eastern Bank Branch.
