Obituary of Maurice J Averay

Maurice J. Averay, 81, of Peabody and formerly of Gloucester, devoted husband of Joanne Mahoney (McDevitt) Averay, loving father of James and his wife Mary Jo Mahoney of Dover, NH, Gregory and his wife Patricia Mahoney of Essex, Keith and his wife Marisa Mahoney of Burbank, CA, Susan and her husband Brian Fisher of England, and Michelle and her husband Lawrence Roland of Melrose, brother of Millicent and her husband Brian Meckleburg of England and Christine and her husband Bernard Sadler of Australia, and devoted grandfather of Amanda, Stephanie, Colleen, Aidan, Molly, and Mia. A private Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday with the gathering starting at 10:00 AM and the service at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maurice’s memory to the Audubon Society,, P.O. Box 1558, 1 Plum Island TPKE, Newburyport, MA 01950 or to a charity of one's choice.
