Obituary of Robert W. Bonsaint
Robert W. Bonsaint, 83, of Peabody, died Thursday at the NSMC- Salem Hospital after a long illness. He was the devoted husband of 62 years to Ada (La Belle) Bonsaint.
He was born in Salem, MA on February 10, 1928, the son of the late Wilfred and Marie L. (Le Page) Bonsaint and was raised and educated there before moving to Peabody in 1953.
Bob had been an auto mechanic for over 50 years, first with Beverly Motors for 15 years and later with Heppely Oldsmobile in Salem. In 1964 he started Bob Bonsaint & Sons in Peabody which he ran for 40 years retiring in 2004. He was a veteran of WW 11 serving with the US Navy and was a past trustee and life member of the V.F.W, Post 1011 of Peabody.
He enjoyed building and racing small model boats with remote control in the lakes and ponds.
He is survived by his wife, Ada, his children and their spouses, John W. and Rebecca Bonsaint , Paul R. and Judite Bonsaint and Marie L. and Richard Mc Pherson all of Peabody, his grandchildren, Megan and Amie Bonsaint, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Doris Michaud.
His Funeral Service will be held at the family lot in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Salem on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
