Obituary of Anna Stepenuk

Anna Stepenuk, 74, of Peabody, died Friday evening at the Rosewood Nursing Center in Peabody after a long illness. She was born in Peabody on June 10, 1937, the daughter of the late Prokop and Melania (Sachuk) Stepanuk and was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1954 and a lifelong resident of Peabody. Anna had been employed in the accounting department with the former NE Tel & Tel Company for 35 years in the Salem and Boston offices prior to her retirement in 1989. She had been an active parishioner at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Salem as a member of the Parish Council for 32 years and served on many committees. She helped cook for the different events there and enjoyed calling Beano. She had been a member of the Telephone Pioneers group and loved to watch the Patriots play football on TV. She is survived by a niece, Linda O’Donnell of Peabody and many loving friends. She was the sister and sister-in-law of the late Kushma and Anna Rabchenuk, Joseph and Madeline Rabchenuk and Mary Rabchenuk and the aunt of the late Marlene Raebeck. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility with a panikhida service there at 6:00 PM. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by Services in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, corner of Forrester and Webb St., Salem at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox St., 64 Forrester St., Salem, MA 01970 in her memory.
