Obituary of Carl Edwin Brintnall
Carl Edwin Brintnall, 91, of Peabody and formerly of Beverly and Salem, died early Sunday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Marie (Parlee) Brintnall.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late William and Amelia (Hyju) Brintnall. He grew up in Salem, Beverly and Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School in 1937. He then attended Northeastern University and received his degree in chemical engineering.
After graduating from Northeastern University, he enlisted with the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in February, 1946. He then went to work for the former United Shoe and later for the Emhart Company as a tool engineer before retiring in 1983. Following his retirement, Carl enjoyed wintering in Port Orange, Florida.
Carl was a member of the Yankee Division Veteran’s Association, the VFW Post 1011 in Peabody, America Legion, Second Corps Cadet, and the United Shoe Quarter Century Club.
Carl is survived by his sister-in-law, Frances Parlee of Peabody and by his step son John Davis of Peabody, and will be dearly missed by all his friends in the veterans associations he belonged to.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be today from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
