Obituary of Sylvia (Alexuk) Bozek

Sylvia (Alexuk) Bozek, 90, of Peabody died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. She was the devoted wife of the late Matthew W. Bozek. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Solodiuk) Alexuk. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1937. Sylvia enjoyed playing the piano, playing scrabble, reading, and for years she sang in the church choir, and was an avid Red Sox Fan. However, what Sylvia enjoyed most was spending time with her family especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ronald Jackson of Peabody and Susan and Frederick Morley of Salem, a brother, Howard Alexuk of Providence, RI, three sisters, Helen O’Neil of Peabody, Lillian Lawson of WA, and Marion March of IL, she is also survived by her 8 devoted grandchildren, Whitney and Jonathan Crandall, Christian and Jason Morley, Robin Palamara, Jennifer McManus, and Brenda and Alisha Jackson, and by two great grandchildren, Kayla and Sydney. She was the mother of the late Paula Bozek, and sister of the late Michael and John Alexuk, and Alice Ratican. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM/ Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peaody.
