Obituary of Paula (MacGilvray) Moyers

Paula (MacGilvray) Moyers, 43, of Derry, NH and formerly of Peabody, MA, died early Monday evening at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Thomas Moyers with whom she shared over 13 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of Utta Herrmann of Peabody and the late James J. MacGilvray, Jr., She was raised and educated in Peabody and has spent the last 14 years living in Derry, NH. Paula worked as a computer board inspector for the Sanmina Company in Derry. Paula was a huge Boston Bruins Fan and her all-time favorite player was Raymond Bourque, and was thrilled when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup this past June. Family was always first with Paula and she would always go out of her way to help a family member or friend in need. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and loved her, including her husband, Thomas, her son, Michael Avella of Derry, NH, her step children, Patrick and Brittany Moyers and John Paul Torres, Jr., all of Corpus Christi, TX, her three brothers, James J. MacGilvray, III and David J. MacGilvray, both of Danvers, and Christopher MacGilvray of Peabody, her three sisters, Deborah Driscoll of Derry, NH, Tracy Kemp of Peabody and Lisa and her husband Gilberto Perez, Sr. of Danvers, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Richards Church, Forest St., Danvers, MA to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, MA.
