Obituary of Durval Medina Silva

Peabody, January 29, 2003. Durval Medina Silva, 58, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Lucia (Lima) Silva with whom he shared over 33 years of marriage. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of Teodosio Silva of Fall River and Guilhermina Medina of Peabody. He was raised and educated in Portugal before immigrating to the United States and he has been living in Peabody for the past 33 years. While living in Portugal, he was a member of the Portuguese Army in Angola during the early 1960’ s. He has spent the last 20 years working for Sanmina Inc. electronics Manufacturer in Wilmington. Besides his loving wife and parents, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Jennifer Silva of Atkinson, NH; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Margarida Silva of North Carolina; a sister and brother-in-law, Laudelina and Eugenio Pimentel of Portugal and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 4-8 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
