Obituary of Louis "Red" Mc Duff

Louis R. Red McDuff, 59, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon at Union Hospital after being stricken at Home. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Packer-Winter) McDuff with whom he has shared the last 8 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of Elizabeth (Reno) McDuff of Peabody and the late Gerard McDuff Sr. He was raised and educated in Peabody, attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1965. He was a self-employed auto mechanic who worked in the industry for over 40 years before retiring. He later enjoyed working with computers. He also was a member of Jordon Lodge AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Peabody as well as the North Shore Daylight Lodge and a member of the Shriners Aleppo Lodge in Wilmington. Besides his loving wife and beloved mother, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Gerard Mac McDuff, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Hernando, Fla., and Ogunquit, ME, an aunt, Violet Allard of Haverhill, his wife’ s children, Richard Winter of Idaho and Thomas Winter, Jr., of Marshfield and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Following cremation, burial will take place in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. If friends should desire, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Shriners Boston Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
