Obituary of Marjorie Mae (O'Brien) Buchanan

Marjorie Mae (O’Brien) Buchanan of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died Saturday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of John J. Buchanan III with whom she shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Leonard) O’Brien. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She has lived in Peabody for the past 5 years. Marjorie worked as a buyer and assistant manager, first for T.W. Rogers and later for Countdown before retiring to take care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed walking, reading, and gardening in her flower beds, and attending all of her grandchildren’s activities. She was a wonderful wife, and very caring and passionate grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, John and his wife Paula Buchanan of Lynnfield, and Susan and her husband Glenn Charbonneau of Peabody and also by her cherished grandchildren, Meghan and Michael Charbonneau, and Lindsey and Adam Buchanan. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti’s Church, Lynnfield to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
