Obituary of Maria Dias Assuncao

Maria Dias Assuncao, 63, of Peabody, died Thursday morning September 22, 2011 after being struck by a pickup truck at the corner of Washington and Main Streets in Peabody. She was pronounced at Salem Hospital. She was born in Brazil on December 25, 1947, the daughter of the late Vicente Assuncao Silva and Neli Dias de Assuncao and had resided there most of her life before coming to Massachusetts 15 years ago. Her zest in life was her family and caring and taking care of them. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved teaching them music. She also loved ballroom dancing. She is survived by two daughters, Ivone Teixeira Lima of Peabody and Ivania Teixeira of Round Rock, Texas, her cherished grandchildren, Karana Lima, Joy Lima and Isabella Teixeira, four brothers in Brazil and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 10:00 until 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by Services there at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
