Obituary of Kenneth R. Hodgdon

Kenneth R. Hodgdon, 58, beloved husband of Lois A. (Musial) Hodgdon, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday evening at the Union Hospital in Lynn. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Alvin E. & Bertha (Young) Hodgdon. He attended Peabody schools and was a lifelong resident of the city. He started his work career in landscaping for a few years, until he became a Fork Truck Operator with Cressey-Dockham in Salem, and later at their facility in North Andover when they merged with the Weatherall Company, with 20 years of service there. He then worked in building maintenance with the Ira Automotive Group in Danvers for the last 12 years. He loved travelling, especially to beaches of New England and the world, Salem Willows to Maine, to Cape Cod, Gloucester, Florida, Hawaii, Bermuda, Bahamas and Caribbean. He loved nature, being outside taking care of his yard, he loved animals with a fondness for his cats, music for Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Bee Gees and others, but mostly loved being at home with family and friends, especially his niece and nephew. He is survived by his wife, Lois A. (Musial) Hodgdon of Peabody, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage; one son, Kenneth M. Hodgdon of Peabody; a brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Robert Butch & Patricia Musial of Peabody; one niece, Amanda Musial & one nephew, Cory Musial, both of Peabody; one brother, Richie Hodgdon of Saugus; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joannie & John Kerrigan of Ocala, FL, and Lois & Brad Crane of Peabody. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger & Philip Hodgdon. His Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM in the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 P.M. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the ceremony on Monday.
