Obituary of Anna Marie Ellen (Gagnon) Flagg

Anna Marie Ellen (Gagnon) Flagg, 89, of Peabody, died Monday evening at the Peabody Glenn Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born in Lynn, MA on November 10, 1921 the daughter of the late Eugene and Alice (St. Cyr) Gagnon and was raised there graduating from Lynn English High School. She later lived in Salem before moving to Peabody 28 years ago. She had been employed at the Unitrode Company in Salem and later in Watertown for 27 years prior to her retirement. She was the former wife of Walter H. Flagg. Anna enjoyed knitting, embroidering and crocheting and was devoted to caring for her cat “Whiskers”. She is survived by her care givers, Freddie Melendez, his mother Carmen Figueroa and his son, Jomar Melendez all of Peabody. She was the sister of the late Alice Knauss. A Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn, MA at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Society for Cruelty to Animals, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090 -6929 in her memory.
