Obituary of Helen T. (Swiderski) Lachowicz

Helen T. (Swiderski) Lachowicz, 89, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 16, 2011. She had shared 54 years of marriage with her late husband, Stanley Lachowicz. Helen was born in Peabody, MA , the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Antonina (Daniszewski) Swiderski and lived in Peabody both before and during her marriage. Helen enjoyed traveling with her family and her husband even if it were a short ride to New Hampshire to visit her friend, Sister Mary Rose. Although she had no children, she loved all her sisters and brothers and their spouses and all of her nieces and nephews dearly and had a special bond with her neighbor, Lori Judd. She had worked for 39 years with Sylvania Lighting Company at the Boston St., Salem, MA plant and was dedicated to her church, St. Joseph’s of Peabody where she was a member of the St. Michael’s Society and the Daughters of Saint Joseph. After her church closed, she became a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Salem. She is survived by her sister, Rose Cassese and her husband Michael of Danvers, and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Swiderski, Sophie Panauski and Irene Pietrowicz and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Szymanski, Wanda Ziomek and Alice Cassese and five brothers, Alexander, Stanley, Edward, Albert and Anthony Swiderski. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., (Downtown) Peabody facility. Her Funeral Service will be held there on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
